Speeder pursued by Roswell officer arrested in Jasper

A man was arrested Sept. 1 after leading police on a high-speed chase that began in Cherokee County and ended near downtown Jasper in Pickens County, reaching speeds up to 124 mph. A Roswell officer initially clocked the driver at more than 120 mph on Georgia 575 before Cherokee County, Pickens County and Georgia State Patrol units joined the pursuit. The driver faces charges of reckless driving and felony fleeing.
