The Roper Mountain Star, adorned with incandescent lights, can often be seen shining through the trees, brightening the Greenville skyline.

The Roper Mountain star is an icon of Greenville’s holiday sky. It won’t be shining this year.

The star atop the Roper Mountain Science Center will be removed for upgrades that are estimated to take a year to complete before it’s reinstalled.
