Romgaz, the national gas producer controlled by the Romanian state, has received the approval of the Competition Council for taking over the productive assets of Azomureș, one of the most important industrial objectives in Romania and the main producer of fertilizers in the country, writes Economedia.
The Competition Council has approved the acquisition of important assets of the Azomureş combination by Romgaz company. The transaction is aimed at installations used in the production of chemical fertilizers and industrial products from the platform in Târgu Mureș. Romgaz takes over Azomureş assets for the production of fertilisers, following the opinion of the Competition Council and the agreement signed on 29 May 2026.
The Competition Council has authorized the transaction through which the State company Romgaz (SNG) intends to take over some assets from Azomureş.
