- Adam Riddle, president of Rolls-Royce Defense, noted that aging facilities required a decision to either manage a "slow decline" or "compete for the future," prompting the $600 million manufacturing and $400 million testing allocation.
- Rolls-Royce plans to hire around 100 new engineers supporting F-130 and AE 1107 engine development, while $40 million test cells enable efficient testing for the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress.
- The overhaul positions Rolls-Royce competitively for Pentagon contracts spanning the Army's MV-75, Air Force's B-52J, and Navy's MQ-25A, with 80% of its U.S. defense workforce based in Indiana.
- Warren White, director of manufacturing operations for Rolls-Royce Defense, expects these programs to last 30 to 50 years, as the Indianapolis campus leverages more than 760 Purdue University graduates.
