Rocket Lab Wins Another Launch Contract From Japan’s iQPS

Analysts expect Rocket Lab revenue to rise more than 50% this year as its Neutron rocket and Iridium deal expand the company’s market.

  • On Thursday, Rocket Lab Corporation announced a multi-launch deal with the Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space for three new dedicated launches on the Electron rocket, marking the third booking by iQPS in less than one year.
  • As the primary launch provider for iQPS, Rocket Lab has achieved 100% mission success since 2023, deploying QPS-SAR satellites to 575km low Earth orbit for the company's Earth-imaging constellation.
  • While the Electron rocket handles small-lift missions with over 260 satellites deployed across 91 launches, the company expects its reusable Neutron medium-lift rocket to begin regular flights late this year or early next year.
  • Despite the operational progress, Rocket Lab shares remain down more than 50% from their late-May peak, though analysts maintain a consensus price target of $116.24, representing an 85% increase above current levels.
  • The company also intends to expand capabilities through acquisition of Iridium Communications, helping customers build higher-functioning satellites as the satellite communications market is projected to grow to over $260 billion by 2034.
