Robert Fox, 85, Versailles

Robert W. Fox, 85, of Versailles passed away at 12 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. He was born in Portland, Maine on November 29, 1940, the son of Rev. William and Shirley Donaldson Fox. He was married to Deborah Sue Back on May 24, 1969 and she preceded him in death on May 22, 2024. Survivors include one daughter Polly Kellerman of Batesville; two brothers Don (Carol) Fox of Minnesota and Ron (Terri) Fox of Texas. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother John, and his sister Shirley Asche. Bob was a 1957 graduate of Moores Hill High School. He had worked at Pollards Bowl in Versailles and was a driver for Butternut Bread in Versailles, retiring in 2000. Bob served in the US Army as a medic in Germany. He enjoyed following the Bengals, his Tuesday night poker games, playing golf, and following the St. Louis Cardinals. Bob was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship. Funeral services will be Monday, August 3 at 11 a.m. at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to Bucket Buddies or Giving Hearts a Hand in care of the funeral home.
