Art crime investigator breaks down brazen Louvre heist
Three of the four members of the so-called “commando team” allegedly behind the brazen heist at the Louvre are in custody. Thieves posing as construction workers broke through a balcony window at the museum, ransacked two cases of royal jewels and zipped off through the streets of Paris on motor scooters. Paris Prosecutor Laure Beccuau: 5 additional suspects arrested in connection with Louvre Museum jewel heist
French authorities have arrested five additional suspects in connection with the October 19th jewel heist at the Louvre Museum, bringing the total number of people in custody to seven, Paris Prosecutor Laure Beccuau announced on Thursday.
The Paris prosecutor spoke about the burglary of the Louvre. The magistrate referred to the circumstances of the arrests of the two suspects, who were charged, but also the crown jewels that were stolen.
Both suspects are 34 and 39 years old.
