Rising Fuel Costs Push Lawn Mowing Prices Up Roughly 5% in Major U.S. Markets
GreenPal said fuel and inflation are pushing gradual price pressure, with 148,021 lawn mowing jobs showing increases just over 5% in high-volume markets.
Rising fuel costs and inflation have pushed lawn mowing prices up roughly 5% across major U.S. markets, according to data released by GreenPal on Saturday.
Unlike fixed-location businesses, lawn care providers face variable expenses as crews travel between properties daily using trucks, trailers, and fuel-powered equipment like mowers and trimmers.
Data from 148,021 analyzed lawn mowing jobs reveals specific pricing increases of 5.67% in Chicago, 5.57% in Fort Worth, and 5.11% in Austin.
Providers typically avoid sharp spikes, instead making gradual price adjustments across customer routes to manage rising operational expenses without disrupting service.
Bryan Clayton, CEO of GreenPal, stated that high-volume markets remain stable, as businesses absorb costs gradually rather than relying on isolated price fluctuations.
