Ripple Partners with Stripe’s Privy to Bring XRP Payments to Apps
Privy said the integration will let developers create embedded and server-side wallets for XRP, RLUSD and AI-agent payments without exposing users to key management.
- On Tuesday, Stripe-owned Privy announced a partnership with Ripple to bring programmable wallet infrastructure to the XRP Ledger, enabling developers to build embedded payment services.
- Applications can now manage cryptographic keys for users, facilitating payments without requiring customers to download separate wallets or secure hardware devices.
- Ripple reported that AI agents have processed 13 million payments on the ledger, "so far, now representing about 25% of the network" activity; Privy reported over 8 million funded accounts.
- Two days ago, Standard Chartered launched institutional RLUSD custody on the XRPL through its Dubai International Financial Centre branch, expanding stablecoin support for eligible clients.
- While developers can build using stablecoins, new funded accounts must maintain a small XRP reserve; transaction fees paid in XRP are subsequently burned, reducing overall supply.
