New 'Rick and Morty' Spinoff Series Announced at Comic-Con Panel
UNITED STATES, JUL 25 – Adult Swim expands the Rick and Morty universe with President Curtis, focusing on the eccentric U.S. President and his staff handling crises unlike those faced by Rick Sanchez.
- At San Diego Comic-Con, Adult Swim announced they are moving forward with President Curtis, a new Rick and Morty spinoff series, during their panel on Friday.
- With season nine in production, Rick and Morty fans recall last year’s Anime spinoff, as Adult Swim announced President Curtis during Comic-Con.
- Joining the cast are Stephanie Beatriz and Jim Rash, with Keith David reprising his role as President Andre Curtis, from Rick and Morty, co-created by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano.
- In endorsing the project, Michael Ouweleen said, `This is a series we would have greenlit even if it didn’t have anything at all to do with Rick and Morty`, while Dan Harmon and James Siciliano said, `He’s the only person in the multiverse who can go toe-to-toe with Rick and still hold office`.
- Beyond the new spinoff, Adult Swim announced President Curtis, part of the expanding Rick and Morty franchise, alongside Vindicators 2 and Rick and Morty: The Anime.
