Five people were indicted on Thursday as part of the investigation into the death of the radical extreme right-wing activist Quentin Deranque in Lyon in February, bringing the number of suspects prosecuted in this case to fourteen.
Five persons were charged with "participation in a criminal association for the preparation of a crime", and four for "aggravated violence", the Lyon prosecutor said.
Five people were charged on Thursday 24 September, seven months after Quentin Deranque's death. The 23-year-old man, who was living in Lyon's ultra-right, died at a rixe on the margins of a conference by MEP LFI Rima Hassan at Sciences Po Lyon. Seven months after the death of the 23-year-old identity activist Quentin Deranque, the investigation was re-emerging. Eight people were arrested on Tuesday, 22 September in the Lyon region, five of whom were charged with conspiracy to prepare an offence punishable by at least five years' imprisonment, without being at this stage suspected of having carried the fatal blows.
