Rhode Island state beach season starts Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of state beach season. All state beaches, with the exception of Roger Wheeler State Beach, will be open Saturday through Labor Day, with full staffing, lifeguards, concessions and restrooms available. The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) has launched a major construction project to enhance Roger W. Wheeler State Beach and that will limit some beach space and parking this summer.
