PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Thousands of Rhode Islanders are without power after severe thunderstorms tore through several communities Thursday evening. According to a spokesperson for RI Energy, over 12,000 customers still remain without power. The spokesperson noted that at the highest they knew of, there were 65,000 outages.
