Review: Chery Tiggo 7 SUV
The compact SUV starts at £24,995 and offers a 745-mile range in plug-in hybrid form, while the cabin gets 565 litres of boot space.
The Chery Tiggo 7 has arrived to compete against the Kia Sportage, MG HS, and Nissan Qashqai, aiming to build on the Chinese carmaker's recent sales success.
Prices start at £24,995 for the 1.6-litre petrol variant and £29,995 for the Super Hybrid PHEV, which delivers a potential 745-mile range including 56 electric-only miles.
All Tiggos feature two 12.3-inch displays and a 565-litre boot, while the higher-grade Summit upgrades to an eight-speaker Sony audio system and heated, ventilated front seats.
Ride and handling do not match established rivals, and infotainment usability suffers from small, complex icons concentrated in the system, though the Tiggo makes impressively smooth progress.
Despite handling shortcomings, the SUV undercuts the MG HS among the market's cheapest plug-ins, with attractive, tactile interior materials providing strong value at this price point.
