German discount chain Kik no longer wants to focus on further expansion, but on profitability. The company, which mainly offers women's, men's and children's clothing and household goods, will therefore close around three hundred branches at home and elsewhere in Europe this year. The company's CEO and CFO Christian Kümmel told the DPA agency. Kik also has over 230 stores in the Czech Republic.
By the end of this year, there will be about 225 fewer stores in the chain than are currently operating.
