Residents protest increase in taxes

Concerned taxpayers overflowed the County Commissioner’s office at the Court House Monday morning most in protest of the property tax increase. Following the discussions the commissioners voted to raise the Revenue Neutral tax rate to 37.939 and the total Ad Valorem Taxes to $9,321,743 with a total budget of $17,116,254 which was what they had proposed.
