Iranian official predicts US sanctions will fail
DUBAI — Iran's foreign minister dismissed the threat of new U.S. sanctions as a sign of desperation Sunday and said the expected new measures would fail to defeat Tehran.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bekayi argued that the US's new economic initiative against Iran targets not only Iran but also the national sovereignty of all countries and the fundamental principles of international law.
