Bavaria massively expands the rental price brake. 100 municipalities come in, 23 fall out. A city causes trouble at the tenant federation.
Munich and many other Bavarian municipalities are an expensive patch for tenants. The so-called rental price brake is supposed to help a bit – and this applies in more and more cities and municipalities.
The Bavarian State Government has extended the Tenant Protection Ordinance. From January 2026 it applies in 285 cities and municipalities. 100 municipalities are new to the Ordinance.
