Renee Good’s wife says she was supporting neighbors when killed by ICE
Becca Good said the couple stopped to support neighbors when Renee was fatally shot by ICE, sparking protests and raising over $1.4 million for the family, authorities said.
- Following the fatal encounter, Becca Good released a statement on Friday after her wife, Renee Nicole Good, was shot dead by an ICE agent while they stopped to support neighbors on Wednesday, January 7th.
- During the second day of the crackdown, the Trump administration immigration crackdown in Minneapolis–St Paul involved more than 2,000 officers and over 1,500 arrests, while Ms Good joined a neighbourhood patrol monitoring ICE activity.
- Video taken by bystanders shows an ICE officer grabbing the Honda Pilot door handle while another officer fires at least two close-range shots as the vehicle moves forward.
- Investigators warned that the FBI and U.S. Justice Department would not cooperate, leading the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to withdraw from the investigation, as state and local officials and protesters rejected the federal self-defence account.
- In her statement, Becca Good urged rejecting hate and choosing compassion, describing Renee Good as `She literally sparkled` and noting the couple's recent move and their three children.
