“This is a blatant attempt to smear the deceased victim and confuse the jury on the ultimate issue of causation by placing all of the focus on the victim’s alcohol level as opposed to the defendant’s extreme speed and lack of warning to drivers on the roadway by use of his lights and sirens, and not the turn itself," Assistant Prosecutor Cory Newman says.
