Registered behavior therapist arrested for child sex crimes

ANDERSON, INDIANA, JUL 25 – Alec Hegge, 31, faces two child molesting charges and an ongoing investigation with suspicions of additional victims, authorities said.

  • Police in Anderson, Indiana arrested Alec Hegge on Thursday, July 24, in suspicion of molesting children including an infant.
  • An alert from the Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force prompted Hegge's investigation, and he worked at Changing Lives Behavior Analysis Inc. for at least two years.
  • Hegge is being held without bond at Madison County jail, and he told investigators he never hurt a patient because there were too many safeguards in place, according to the Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force news release.
  • Families who suspect their child was a victim are asked to contact Detective Chris Borgmann at 317-595-3467.
  • As the probe continues into his online accounts, detectives suspect additional charges while Hegge is no longer employed at the facility and it is cooperating with the investigation.
