EDITOR: I read in the Jan. 7, 2026 edition of The Landmark that a cost of living increase of five percent for the police was denied. It immediately occurred to me that the denial was probably related to the enormous wad of taxpayer money that was recently spent on the clerk, collector, public administrator, assessor, auditor and treasurer.
