After a full reading of the 413 articles, which was taken almost five hours, the Senate of the Republic approved on first reading the new Dominican Penal Code. The bill was approved unanimously and standing by the 23 senators present in the session and is expected to be approved in a second reading next Tuesday by the senators and then send the piece to the Chamber of Deputies to repeat the same procedure.
