In a report published this Wednesday, 30 September, the Council of Compulsory Levies identifies a contribution on high incomes that earns three times less than expected and 200 households that save 220,000 euros of tax each thanks to niches. It wants to cap, date and evaluate each tax advantage.
The tax reductions and credits related to the IR reached a cost of EUR 15 billion in 2024, points out a report by the Council on compulsory levies.
In a report published on Wednesday, 30 September, the Council of Compulsory Deductions takes a critical look at the distribution of schemes according to resource levels and recommends that they be tightened and that the modalities for calculating the differential contribution on high incomes be reconsidered.
More than 14 million taxpayers benefit from at least one credit or tax reduction, saving them, most of the time, less than €1,000. The middle classes are on the front line. But the report of the Council of Compulsory Taxation also reveals the limits of the safeguards put in place.
