Red Deer takes 5th place in national ParticipACTION challenge

Red Deer relinquished its crown as Alberta’s most active community in the 2026 ParticipACTION Community Challenge to Airdrie. Red Deer took second place provincially, and finished in fifth place nationally. Québec City was named Canada’s Most Active Community for 2026 and earned the $100,000 grand prize to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.
