Red Bulls sign Gustav Berggren to 3.5-year contract to bolster midfield

Swedish midfielder Gustav Berggren is headed to New York as the newest member of the Red Bulls. The Red Bulls announced the signing of the 27-year-old midfielder on Wednesday to a 3 1/2-year deal through 2028 with an option for 2029 in a move that helps the MLS club replace the departed Felipe Carballo, who returned to his club in Brazil after his loan expired.
