Red Bull Signs Key Aston Martin Engineer as Lambiase Replacement
Tom McCullough will join Red Bull in 2027 after nearly 25 years in Formula 1, replacing Gianpiero Lambiase as Head of Racing.
Red Bull Racing has signed Tom McCullough as Head of Racing, replacing McLaren-bound Gianpiero Lambiase starting in 2027.
McCullough brings nearly 25 years of Formula experience, having served Aston Martin in various capacities from 2014 until 2025 before transitioning from Performance Technologies.
"We're delighted to welcome Tom to the team," a Red Bull statement read, confirming his departure from Aston Martin by year-end 2026.
Lambiase will join McLaren in 2028 after gardening leave, while reports suggest Tom Hart may assume race engineer duties for Max Verstappen.
Red Bull Racing is also strengthening operations by signing Mercedes' long-serving driver development head Gwen Lagrue, who will move to Milton Keynes.
This evening, Red Bull confirmed a new major movement in its technical and operational organization chart. The Austrian team recruited Tom McCullough, experienced figure of Aston Martin, to become its future director of the competition from 2027.
