Recreation Park West-Friesland in Opmeer Will Not Become a Residential Area: Residents Are Relieved

The controversial plan to change the West-Friesland recreation park in Opmeer into an industrial estate or residential area for migrant workers was removed from the agenda on Wednesday evening. The board withdrew the proposal after it became clear that the municipal council was deeply divided. Hundreds of holidaymakers and dozens of people living there illegally would be the victims.
