Fireworks Sold Nationwide Recalled Ahead of July 4 Celebrations
The recall covers 87,120 aerial cakes and 13,500 Roman candles after the CPSC said both products can tip over or fire from the side.
On Thursday, the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled more than 100,000 fireworks manufactured by Winco Fireworks International due to serious burn and explosion hazards.
The recall covers 87,120 Unity 7 Shot 200 Gram Aerial Cake Firework Devices that can tip over, and 13,500 Hometown Roman Candles prone to malfunction with side-tube explosions.
Winco sold the products at Pyro City and independent fireworks stores nationwide, with Unity devices priced between $6 and $8 and Roman candles between $17 and $19.
CPSC officials urge owners to stop using the fireworks immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund in cash or original payment method.
Consumers should check with local government for fireworks usage restrictions and visit wincofireworks.com to click on "Product Safety Recall" for additional information.
