Reason Mainoo and Yoro have not been included in United's Champions League squad
Manchester United submitted their 23-player Premier League squad after the transfer window closed on Tuesday, notably excluding midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and defender Leny Yoro from the official roster.
Both players remain eligible for selection because they classify as Under-21 talent, having been born on or after 1 January 2005, which exempts them from mandatory squad registration requirements.
United submitted 23 of a possible 25 players, including eight homegrown stars and midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who remains registered despite suffering a World Cup injury that could sideline him until next year.
Academy prospects including Kai Rooney, son of Old Trafford legend Wayne Rooney, feature on the U-21 list, while teenage forward JJ Gabriel remains excluded as he is only 15 years old.
United may amend this squad list once the mid-season transfer window closes; Mainoo has already logged 103 of 180 minutes this season, demonstrating his continued integration despite the squad exclusion.
Manchester United has officially submitted its 2026/27 Premier League squad. Several young names have made the list, including Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro, both U-21 players.
