Reader remembers kelp beds in 1970s

Dear Editor, I’m responding to Neil Crouch’s letter of July 1 regarding the kelp harvesting ships of 1972. Yes, our family watched in disgust as the ships came through close to shore taking all the kelp, home to a rich bio-diverse ecosystem.
