Prices Hiked on Most Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 Variants
The company passed on soaring memory costs and added a 3 GB Pi 4, while the 16 GB Pi 5 rose $100, Eben Upton said.
- Raspberry introduced a 3 GB variant of its Pi 4 hardware at $83.75 today as soaring memory costs drive broad price increases across the current product range.
- These adjustments follow recent price hikes: a $25 rise in December 2025 and an additional $60 in February 2026, compounding pressure on the company's hardware lineup.
- Flagship Pi 500+ hardware increased by $150 and the recently released AI HAT rose by $50, while the company held prices for the Pi 400 and some lower-memory variants.
- Raspberry boss Eben Upton noted the company holds 'substantial inventory' of older LPDDR2 DRAM and is engineering new memory-density options to manage current market volatility.
- Upton concluded that "2026 looks likely to be another challenging year for memory pricing," though he expects these increases to be temporary and reversible.
