An engineering sample of AMD's never-released Ryzen 9 5900X3D has surfaced on the Chinese forum Chiphell, and it looks quite different from the prototype AMD has shown before. The 12-core, 24-thread Zen 3 chip carries the code 100-000000652 and reports 128 MB of L3 cache, split as 96 MB on one CCD and 32 MB on the other. Ryzen 9 5900X3D Engineering Sample Reportedly Surfaces with 128MB L3 Cache
A reported engineering sample of AMD’s unreleased Ryzen 9 5900X3D has surfaced in a Chiphell forum post. The AM4 processor is identified by the code 100-000000652 and is described as part of AMD’s Vermeer family, based on the Zen 3 architecture.
It is already known that AMD experimented with the additional 3D V cache at different configurations in the early stage of the development of X3D processors.
