Rand McNally Publishing Launches The Official Map of the Route 66 Centennial

On Jan. 27, 2026, Rand McNally Publishing, Chicago, released The Official Map of the Route 66 Centennial, marking its 170-year history as a Founding Sponsor of the centennial.
Produced in partnership with the Route 66 Centennial Commission, the map serves as a commemorative keepsake for the Mother Road's 100th anniversary, established by Congress.
Designed for an analog-first adventure, the map includes integrated QR codes linking to the Route 66 Centennial's directory and features state-by-state navigation with Hidden Lore and 66 essential stops from Chicago to Santa Monica.
Available online and at national retailers, the map sells at randpublishing.com, Amazon and Barnes & Noble, with a portion of each sale benefiting the Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership Preservation and Economic Development Grant Program.
As the official map provider, Rand McNally's history of innovation includes creating the highway numbering system used to name Route 66, said Bill Thomas.
