Rams All-Pro Puka Nacua Misses Practice with Muscle Soreness. McVay Expects Him to Return Next Week
All-Pro Puka Nacua is expected to return to practice next week, Los Angeles Rams Head Coach Sean McVay confirmed Thursday, following recent muscle soreness that sidelined him this week.
During a Tuesday joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys, Nacua sustained the injury, forcing him to exit early and miss Thursday's session while recovering.
Defensive End Myles Garrett also remains sidelined resting a knee injury, though both players would have missed Saturday's preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs regardless of health status.
The team is being cautious with Nacua, who led the NFL with 129 receptions and 1,715 yards last season, making him the Rams' second-most important offensive player behind quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Quarterback Stetson Bennett will start the preseason opener against Kansas City, while rookie Ty Simpson is also expected to play under first-year offensive coordinator Nate Scheelhaase.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Open receiver All-Pro Puka Nacua plans to retrain next week with the Rams of Los Angeles, after missing Thursday's session due to muscle discomfort.
