Ram Temple Donation Theft: RSS Calls for Hindu Unity, Seeks Strict Action Against Those Guilty
RSS says the temple theft allegations need strict action and a neutral probe as investigators have arrested 8 people and recovered cash, gold and silver.
- On Friday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale demanded an impartial probe into the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, describing the incident as "unfortunate."
- A Special Investigation Team constituted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is investigating the case, having arrested eight individuals associated with the donation-counting process.
- Authorities recovered cash including Rs 20.39 lakh from Avinash Shukla and Rs 18.07 lakh from Karunesh Pandey, plus about 375 grams of silver, one gram of gold, and USD 1,121.
- Hosabale urged the Hindu community to exercise restraint and patience during this difficult time, warning against allowing anti-Hindu factions to misuse the incident to spread misinformation.
- The SIT will also re-audit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's accounts for the past five years, while the theft has sparked a political row in Uttar Pradesh ahead of assembly elections next year.
