Rakul Preet Singh Dismisses Reports of IT Raids at Her Residence: ‘I Do Not Hold Any Benami Property’
Rakul Preet Singh said the searches were not linked to her and denied illegal foreign remittances, benami property claims and undisclosed assets.
On September 28, the Mumbai Income Tax Department conducted searches at around 12 locations linked to actress Rakul Preet Singh, producer Vashu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios over suspected financial irregularities.
Authorities are probing suspected irregularities in film financing and overseas transactions; however, no formal charges or specific findings have been publicly announced by the Income Tax Department.
Singh stated she has been paying taxes since age 20, declaring, "Have been paying my due taxes since the age of 20," while denying involvement in illegal foreign remittances on behalf of any production house.
Demanding retractions, Singh criticized media outlets for sensationalizing reports without verification, calling the coverage "false, malicious and speculative" and urging publications to clarify the facts.
While the investigation remains ongoing with no established wrongdoing, Singh continues professional commitments including a role as Surpanakha in the upcoming film Ramayana: Rise of a Legend.
