Rains keep Front Range green, as drier conditions loom ahead

Recent above-normal rain in Colorado Springs helps stave off wildfire danger, but it's also put a bit of a damper on localized tourism and the restaurant industry. In the coming months, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts warmer-than-average temperatures and below-average precipitation. However, the forecast does not bode as well for the Western Slope, where conditions have dried out and five large fires have broken out.
