Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Chiefs' 30-27 Win over Raiders
Mahomes passed for 225 yards and two touchdowns, and Kenneth Walker III ran for 177 yards and two scores as Kansas City improved to 4-0.
On Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27, remaining the AFC's lone undefeated team at 4-0. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and running back Kenneth Walker III each scored two touchdowns.
Sparked by Walker's 76-yard run late in the third quarter, the Chiefs scored three consecutive fourth-quarter touchdowns against a Raiders defense that had previously allowed zero points in the final frame this season.
Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton caught five passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns before suffering an ankle injury in the fourth quarter. Mahomes completed 15 of 30 passes for 225 yards with no interceptions.
Linebacker Jeffrey Bassa forced a fumble on a kickoff return, with Jack Cochrane recovering for Kansas City. Safety Xavier Nwankpa intercepted Kirk Cousins on the final play to seal the victory.
Head coach Andy Reid improved his record at Allegiant Stadium to 7-1, becoming the winningest coach in the venue's history. The Chiefs enter a bye week before hosting the Los Angeles Chargers on October 18.
