Radiation Safety Authority: The government's timetable for new nuclear power is not working

The government and several ministers have made strong promises to start construction for new nuclear power or “break the ground” before the 2026 election. But there are still no applications, and with 19 months until the election, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority tells SVT that their permit review will take at least 2-3 years. This means that the timetable for new nuclear power looks set to break.
