The “hero firefighter” mentality and “poor management of the emergency situation” are among the multiple causes that led to the deaths of volunteer firefighters Christopher Lavoie, 23, and Régis Lavoie, 55, during the May 1, 2023 flood in Saint-Urbain, Charlevoix.

The coroner's report following the public inquiry into the deaths of Régis and Christopher Lavoie was unveiled on Wednesday.
