Police to summon Israeli ministers and senior civil servants to testify in Qatargate
The top officials are set to be summoned over difficulties investigating lobbyist Jay Footlik, to better understand the connection between the ministers and senior officials and the American businessman who served as a lobbyist for Qatar
The process is expected to expand beyond the Prime Minister's Office and examine ties with Qatari lobbyist Jay Potlik, whose investigation abroad has been legally stalled. At the same time, a struggle is underway over the return of Yonatan Urich to the Prime Minister's Office, amid concerns about disruption of moves.
The police are asking for their time following difficulties in interrogating lobbyist Jay Potlik, one of the central figures in the case. The collection of testimony requires the approval of the Attorney General. Haaretz has learned that Potlik met with Ohana in October 2024.
