Qantas Airlines to launch first nonstop Las Vegas to Sydney Australia route

Qantas will operate three weekly Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights saving up to five hours by avoiding US connections and serving major events like CES and NRL fixtures.

  • Qantas revealed this week that it will launch nonstop flights between Sydney and Las Vegas starting Dec. 29, operating Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays through at least March 12, 2027.
  • Driven by rising demand, Qantas said strong international travel interest and its historic fleet renewal enable seasonal flights timed with CES and the NRL season kickoff.
  • Using Boeing 787 Dreamliners carrying up to 300 passengers, the nonstop trip will cut five hours by avoiding U.S. connections, clocking roughly 15 hours and 15 minutes and crossing the International Dateline.
  • With 745,000 Americans visiting last year, Don Farrell, Australia's Minister for Trade and Tourism, called the flight a major win that creates opportunities for Qantas pilots and cabin crew.
  • As part of its network growth, Qantas joins North and South America cities like Los Angeles and New York with discounted round-trip economy fares for $999 through March 11.
