Q+A: How a Lucan home will bring generations together

The 53-suite home will mix seniors and younger adults, start at $4,200 a month and create 70 jobs when fully operational.

A private intergenerational home is opening in the town of Lucan, bringing together retirement living, dementia care and support for adults with developmental disabilities. Highview, which operates the 53-suite home at 139 Main St., calls it a “first-of-its-kind” in Canada. The home is expected to create 70 jobs when fully operational. Highview president Joy Birch spoke with LFP’s Ryan Goodison about the model and what residents can expect.
