'Putney Pusher' suspect found dead at West London home
Police say his death is unexpected and not suspicious as a file is prepared for the coroner after the reopened 2017 probe.
- On Tuesday, 44-year-old banker Nicholas Brandram was found dead at his home in Chiswick. Metropolitan Police stated the death is being treated as unexpected but is not believed to be suspicious.
- Brandram was the primary suspect in the long-running 'Putney Pusher' inquiry, having been arrested on June 15 for attempted grievous bodily harm relating to a 2017 bridge incident.
- On May 5, 2017, a jogger pushed a 33-year-old woman into the path of a 430 bus on Putney Bridge; driver Oliver Salbris swerved to avoid the pedestrian, saving her life.
- Despite conducting over 50 interviews and making three arrests, detectives never brought formal charges in the case. A file will now be prepared for the coroner regarding Brandram's death.
- Brandram was a decorated former British Army officer and multi-millionaire banker descended from Queen Victoria. He had been released under investigation earlier this month prior to his death.
