Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is running for leadership of the autonomous region again and has the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin. "I hope that the people of the republic will support you; much has been achieved under your leadership, and Chechnya has changed profoundly in recent years," the Russian president said of Kadyrov.
He has reportedly been on the brink of death several times, but for Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, that is no reason to take things easier. On the contrary, the 49-year-old despot traveled to Moscow last week to get the green light from Vladimir Putin to run for a new term.
