Putin and leaders of Southeast Asia agree to bolster ties at a summit in Russia
President Vladimir Putin praised Russia's ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations during a summit aimed at strengthening economic and political cooperation.
Leaders from Russia and ASEAN countries, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, East Timor, and Vietnam, agreed to expand their strategic partnership.
Putin called the partnership a key stabilizing factor in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting cooperation in security, trade, energy, agriculture, digitalization, science, tourism, and humanitarian efforts.
Summit participants signed a declaration reaffirming their commitment to a just multipolar world based on international law and pledged to maintain top-level contacts to advance their strategic partnership.
