Puppy Bowl XXII to Air on Feb. 8
Puppy Bowl XXII promotes pet adoption with 150 dogs from 72 shelters, including special-needs and senior dogs, airing as a three-hour event before the Super Bowl.
- On Super Bowl Sunday, Puppy Bowl XXII will air February 8 from 2–5 p.m. ET and simulcast across Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, HBO Max and discovery+.
- The original, longest-running call-to-adoption event returns in its 22nd year, produced for Animal Planet by Bright Spot Content, an All3Media America company.
- This year’s lineup includes a record 150 dogs from 72 shelters across the United States, Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands, featuring Adoptables segments and commentary from Steve Levy and Taylor Rooks.
- Organizers say the show `celebrates the spirit of the underdog`, `creating a deeper connection to our audience` with new segments, Joseph Boyle said.
- For the first time, the event will spotlight senior dogs with Team Oldies versus Team Goldies, while fifteen special-needs dogs compete and Dan Schachner, veteran referee, returns alongside Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills wide receiver.
