Puebla.- Twelve mountain climbers - who were lost in the Citlaltépetl volcano or the Pico de Orizaba - were rescued with minor injuries after search work carried out jointly by the Ministry of Public Security of Puebla, the National Guard, the Red Cross and the Forest Police.The Red Cross of the State of Mexico itself detailed that finally the climbers, originally from San Luis Potosí, were rescued unharmed and only two presented minor injuries.

On the afternoon of this Monday, December 15, 2025, the rescue of ten mountain climbers from the state of San Luis Potosí who were in the vicinity of the Citlaltépetl Volcano, at the height of the town of Tlachichuca, was announced. After the location of the athletes in the town, two of them required pre-hospital care due to dehydration, however, they are stable and already in a safe place.
So far, the conditions under which the persons are found and the identity of each of them are unknown.
