I read with interest Sarah Williams’ excellent report in the July 17 Beaver, on a proposed data park in Greater Napanee. There were several points which would cause a person to sit up and notice. The first and most obvious point is the immense amount of energy that data centres use. When one considers that a 250 megawatt data centre would use 250,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) every hour or 6 million kWh per day which would amount to 2.19 billion kWh …
